Organizational Performance Management Essay Healthcare organizations have differences and similarities across the board. Some healthcare institutions are faith based and will not allow for some procedures. Others provide small procedures and vaccinations. Some healthcare facilities are for profit and others are non-profit. While other health care providers only take certain types of insurances, either government funded or privately funded insurances. The Mayo Clinic is large not for profit operating healthcare provider and healthcare research entity. They provide a vast array of services in the United States from diabetes to cancer treatment and research. The Mayo Clinic has a worldwide reputation and standard that continues to receive accolade and awards. The Mayo clinic has received the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval. This award is given to organizations that demonstrate the highest dedication to improving and providing patients with best quality of care. The Mayo Clinic takes pride in being able to provide the highest level of care and to also maintain it. The Mayo Clinic has established a department to manage any infraction that may hinder its goal of achieving this standard it has set forth (Mayo Clinic For Patients, 2013). The Mayo clinic has to maintain a standard that is consistent with the reputation that they have established for themselves through risk and quality management. The Mayo Clinic has a compliance and integrity program established to reinforce safety. This program is put into place to monitor the overall business practices and to ensure they are being conducted with integrity. The program puts a ll policies and procedures under one chain of command so that they can be monitored and used as a means of communication for employees. The compliance office oversees the directing and receiving of reports, questions, and concerns about the care provided. The Compliance Office works with all department heads and stakeholders to ensure regulations and requirements are met (Integrity and Compliance Program, 2011). They also establish furthering education so that employees are up to date on current rules and regulations. The compliance office is open to receive any and all violations reports. The violations are investigated thoroughly. This program ensures that the company is able to provide statements in relation to its business practices, current and forthcoming law changes, and to protect itself and staff from any civil or legal issues. The integrity and compliance program applies to all individuals who work in any capacity at the mayo clinic from main stakeholder to students and volunteers. Workers are expected to report any violations that are suspected or otherwise known (Integrity and Compliance Program, 2011). The compliance program offers an open door policy and protects its employees from retaliation. The purpose for this office is to identify violations that are against company policy and the company and its employees to be civilly liable, and criminally liable. Each Mayo facility has a compliance officer on staff to ensure its compliance an d integrity program is being fulfilled. Compliance officers are responsible for investigating suspected violations. Each employee is required to take a compliance-training course to ensure that they know what is expected of them when they witness, suspect, or commit a violation. In 2009, SARRC conducted 250 training and orientations, as well as offered information and services to students and staff in 90 Arizona schools. Some levels of the organization may have other compartmentalized goals, but overall the message should be clear. Leadership should set the expectations of all incoming employees, but all employees should have a way of giving feedback to leadership on how they feel the organization is progressing to its goal. Staff needs to know that without compliance and accreditation guidelines the organization cannot survive, much less thrive on the assistance it provides to the community. The goal is to have a majority of the staff believe in the direction of the organization and for the organization to listen to its employees. Compliance and regulation set the tone for risk and quality management systems in an organization. Certain aspects may help or hinder performance depending on the particular regulations set by the state. With the guidelines in place, quality management can gauge whether exceeding these standards would help the organization. Besides the level of service provided in quality management, risk management dictate that these actions are responsible from a fiduciary standpoint. Nonprofit organizations aren’t in it to make the big bucks per se, but they still are a business that needs to run and pay employees, facilities, and other services provided. Theme of Death in William Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet :: Romeo and Juliet Essays

Theme of Death in Romeo and Juliet Slash, cling, clank these are the sounds that are heard in a sword fight as a man is killed. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare the theme death is portrayed many times by the characters Marcutio, Romeo, and Juliet. The first instance of the theme death was in act 3 when Marcutio challenged Tybalt to a sword fight. "Ask for me tomorrow, and you shall find a grave man."(Act three, scene 1, line 104.) Also as Marcutio is dying he says "Help me into some house, Benvolio, Or I shall Faint." (Act 3, scene 1, line 113.) Both these quotes show how Marcutio portrayed the theme death. Second, Romeo is the next to portray the theme death. Now in Act 5, this is the time that Romeo shows the theme death. He has heard of Juliet's death and is so heartbroken that he goes to an apothecary to get poison so he can join Juliet in heaven. "To Juliet's grave; for there must I use thee." (Act 5, scene 1, line 93). Second when Romeo is about to drink the poison he says, "Here's to my love! [Drinks.] O true apothecary! Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die. [Falls.]" (Act 5, scene 3, line 122). These quote show how Romeo loves Juliet. So much he will die to be with her." The next quotes show how Juliet's feelings are mutual to Romeo's. After Juliet wakes up from her death like coma she sees Romeo's dead corpse and notices that he had never got the message from the friar. "O churl! Drunk all, and left no friendly drop to help me after? I will kiss his lips. Haply some poison yet doth hang on them. To make me die with a restorative." The next quote shows how the poison has no effect on Juliet, and how she is so desperate to be with Romeo she will stab herself. "O happy dagger! [Snatches Romeo's dagger.] This is thy sheath; there rust, and let me die. [She stabs herself and falls.

Old tech vs new

New technology â€Å"The front porch† by Chester convey,† television destroying childhood† by rose batched and, â€Å"on the fear of death† by Elisabeth kibble-Ross. Those topics as authors has mentioned about how the way thing are now then past and how the way things compare to present. The modern world Is changing day by day and becoming more Innovative. The deferent things we use every day such as ours phones and cars and many more. The use of cell phone and cars keep connected with friends and family, but It has also Increased public rudeness.The old technology Is linked to the new technology. Without the old technology, the new technology wouldn't be found or exist. According to past, the first car ford model T was Invented In early sass's, without that being Invented the newer model would be found. Old technology was not as complex as newer technology. For example, when I was younger, I remember going out with my grandfather in his â€Å"Marti Suzukià ¢â‚¬  which is an Indian model car back in 2002. Currently, I am now driving 2013 Toyota corolla.The differences between these two cars are great. The Marti Suzuki only had radio and air conditioning working only, compare to that car, the Toyota corolla has many feature such as Bluetooth, CD player, navigation and much more feature. Early 1900, the phone was to only used to be called people and now it is we have lots of option such as testing, playing games, video calling, and many more. Another example, when I was in India, I had phone called Monika. I only can call from that phone. That phone is limited to calling only.Currently, I have the Samsung galaxy so, and this phone as any option and feature such as testing, playing games, video calling, and many more. For instance, when I came to USA back in 2008, my parent gave me phone g on my birthday. That phone was slow and takes time to load things such as video, games, websites and etc. Compare to that phone, and I bought another phone in 2010. The I phone g was getting better because that phone loads everything faster than phone g. That how we can tell that the technology is getting better and better.The technology matter because if we didn't had computer, cars, phone or any another genealogy, we would able to talk with relatives, we would not able to drive, or we would not able find things or learn from computer. However, the deference between new technology and old technology Is great because without the old technology, the new technology wouldn't new exist. The old technology was the foundation for the new technology. We have world changing day by day and I predict that technology will continue grow and become more and more Innovative. Manager’s of an organization has to use structure to help the company run efficiently. â€Å"The five types of organizational structures are functional, divisional, matrix, team-based, and virtual network† (Draft, 2013, p.316). Functional structure in an organization that is developed by grouping departments by the skills, level of knowledge, activities done daily, and the resource used. â€Å"This structure places specific departments from the bottom to the top† (Draft, 2013, p.318). For example, specific departments such as: human resources, accounting, engineering, and manufacturing are placed at the top, while there are mostly seen at the bottom in other organizations. While common functions such as; people, facilities, and other resources are combined together as a single department instead of being divided into multiple departments. â€Å"Divisional structure is known by the approach of having similar skills and resources grouped together into divisions† (Draft, 2013, p.318).
